Super Blue Lavender - A Great Drought Tolerant & Low Maintenance Plant for the El Dorado Hills Area
As a landscape architect, there are many types of Lavender that I use in my planting designs but one of my favorites is Super Blue Lavender.
Lavendula angustifolia ‘Super Blue’ is a great drought-tolerant small shrub that grows to approximately 12” in height and spread/width. Its fragrant flowers are English-style lavender spikes in a rich deep blue/purple color. It can be used as a border edge plant in masses or singularly to create a punctuation in the garden.
It is a hardy evergreen plant that gives year-round interest with its foliage and flowers. Some of its other special attributes include low maintenance, bee-friendly, butterfly-attracting, and great overwintering, to name a few.
Super Blue Lavender likes full sun but can tolerate some shade.
I highly recommend Super Blue Lavender and if you can’t find it at your local nursery or garden center, you can order it here: Super Blue Lavender Plants
