GARDEN PRUNERS

When it comes to gardening, having a high-quality pair of pruners is absolutely crucial for every gardener. If you're on the lookout for the best brand around, it's hard to beat the renowned excellence of Felco. Their pruners are top-notch and trusted by professionals far and wide. My own Felco F-2’s are over 12 years old and still going strong! Here are my top recommendations:

GARDEN TOOL BELT / HOLSTER

If the gardener in your life has pruners, then maybe they need a great garden belt or holster to carry pruners and other tools conveniently. It’s really nice to have your tools always within reach and not be tempted to put them down and possibly losing them as you work in the garden. Here are a few great options:

ARTIFACT - THE ART AND GARDENS OF JEFF MENDOZA

I was extremely lucky to have renowned designer, Jeff Mendoza as my mentor. I worked in the office of J. Mendoza Gardens as the Senior Landscape Architect in New York City for 14 years and learned so much from him. Artifact presents the thoughtful and sophisticated landscape designs of Jeff Mendoza. A formally trained artist, his work often reflects the natural world - depicting botanical forms with earthy palettes. He noticed this connection and opened his eponymous firm, J. Mendoza Gardens in 1987. While plants became his medium, he approached the design of a garden in the same manner he would a drawing or painting - considering form, color, texture, scale, and the overall composition. Artifact is a portfolio of Mendoza's accomplished career tracing his various projects - whether a city terrace or a country yard - intellectually planned for each unique environment and spatial layout.

GARDEN KNEELING PAD

Kneeling pads are great for gardening when you are working on something in one area, such as planting delicate flowers or pulling pesky weeds. With their cushioned surface and sturdy construction, they not only provide comfort in a kneeling position but also help alleviate the strain on your knees and back. The compact size of these boards allows for easy maneuverability, enabling you to effortlessly shift from one section of your garden to another. So gift one of these to a gardener on your list and the next time they find themselves tending to their beloved plants, they’ll think of you and embrace the joy of pain-free gardening! Here are my top recommendations:

Garden tool bags are not only practical, but they also make for a thoughtful and useful gift. Having a dedicated bag to store and carry tools can greatly improve the gardening experience. It helps keep everything organized and easily accessible, saving precious time and preventing unnecessary frustration. An efficient garden tool bag should have multiple compartments and pockets of varying sizes to accommodate different tools like trowels, pruners, gloves, and even seeds or plant markers. Additionally, adjustable straps and handles provide comfort and versatility, allowing the gardener to carry the bag over their shoulder or by hand. By giving a garden tool bag to the gardener on your list, you're not only providing them with a practical accessory, but also showing your support and appreciation for their passion. Here are my top recommendations:

GARDEN DIARY JOURNAL

Here’s a fun gift for the gardeners in your life that enjoy keeping track of their gardens through the years. Compiled by garden personality and QVC host Linda Vater, The Garden Journal is an essential record-keeping tool for every gardener, no matter what you grow. From daily happenings and garden successes to plant lists, variety names, and seasonal to-dos, you’ll be able to stay organized and keep a carefully curated record of current activities and future tasks. This gorgeous, heirloom-quality journal acts as a logbook and guide through 5 years of your garden’s life. Keeping track of success and failures, wishes and wants, has never been more beautiful! The special lay-flat binding allows the book to stay open on a table or potting bench, making it easy to write in without having to hold the pages open.

I dislike buying super expensive garden gloves. Mostly because I’ll usually lose one somewhere and inexpensive gloves are obviously much easier to replace. But gloves are essential garden gear and some people really love nice gloves (that they take care of and don’t lose like me!:) so here are a few types that I recommend in different price points for you to decide:
